Welcoming Two New PhD Students to Our Research Group!

We are pleased to announce that Maoding Cheng and Zhiyuan Wang have joined our research group as new PhD students. Their addition marks an important step in strengthening our team and further advancing our research directions.

Both Maoding Cheng and Zhiyuan Wang have demonstrated strong academic backgrounds and a clear commitment to scientific inquiry. We are confident that their expertise and dedication will make valuable contributions to our ongoing projects and will help foster a collaborative and rigorous research environment.

The expansion of our group reflects our continued growth and our dedication to addressing key challenges in semiconductor photonics and related fields. We look forward to supporting Maoding Cheng and Zhiyuan Wang as they begin their doctoral studies and to the achievements we will pursue together.

 

Congratulations to Dr. Amoah on His Successful Ph.D. Defense!

We are pleased to announce that our group member, Sylvester Amoah, has successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation and has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Throughout his time in our laboratory, Dr. Amoah demonstrated consistent dedication to his research and contributed meaningfully to the progress of our projects.

Welcome Our Latest Master Student Sarah Martinez!

Sarah Martinez has joined our research group at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

We are thrilled to welcome a new member to our team, a University of Arkansas, Fayetteville alumna with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Her research interests lie in the cutting-edge fields of embedded system design for aerospace and medical and healthcare applications. She brings valuable experience in embedded system design for wearables, and we look forward to her contributions to our projects and innovations. Welcome aboard!

Xuehuan Ma and Emmanuel has joined our research group at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

Exciting developments unfold in our research group as we proudly welcome two dynamic new additions, Xuehuan Ma and Emmanuel. Xuehuan Ma, having completed her master’s degree in Optical Engineering from Hainan Normal University in 2023, is now charting a new academic journey by pursuing a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Arkansas. Her background in Optical Engineering and her dedication to furthering her studies make her a valuable asset to our multidisciplinary research endeavors. Simultaneously, we are delighted to have Emmanuel, who is pursuing a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering. Together, Xuehuan Ma and Emmanuel bring diverse expertise, promising fresh perspectives, and a shared passion for pushing the boundaries of knowledge within our collaborative research community.

August 2022 –  Fisher Group fellow Wei Du is accepts position as associate professor at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville

Former UARK Post Doc Wei Du has returned to serve as a professor at BELL in the engineering department. Previously Dr. Wei Du had been working as an assistant professor at Wilkes University also in the electrical engineering department. We welcome back our long time college and collaborator back to UARK and will support him as he continues his excellent work as an educator and researcher. Good to have you back Wei Du!
